5G Booster Packs
While unlimited 5G sounds great, accessing those blazing-fast speeds just got a bit more expensive. If you’re on a budget-friendly data plan, here’s the breakdown of how Jio and Airtel’s new 5G booster packs.
Higher Entry Point for Unlimited 5G
Both Airtel and Jio now require a minimum recharge plan with 2GB of daily 4G data to access unlimited 5G.
Bridging the Gap
5G booster packs are designed for users on more affordable plans with 1GB or 1.5GB of daily 4G data.
Affordable Options
Both telcos offer three tiers of 5G booster packs priced at Rs 51, Rs 101, and Rs 151.
No Standalone Validity
These booster packs must be combined with an existing recharge plan.
Bonus Data
In addition to 5G access, the booster packs also provide bonus 4G data.
Rs 51 Plan
This plan offers 3GB of 4G data, with a one-month validity for Jio users and the base plan’s duration for Airtel users.
Rs 101 Plan
This plan offers 6GB of 4G data and a two-month validity for Jio users, while Airtel users get the benefit for their base plan’s duration.
Rs 151 Plan
Jio’s plan offers a three-month validity and 9GB of 4G data, while Airtel’s benefits last for the base plan’s duration.
Fair Usage Policy
Airtel applies a 300GB fair usage policy (FUP) to its “unlimited” 5G data, after which speeds are reduced. Jio currently has no FUP for 5G.
